i had no preconceptions of where i wanted any of the characters to end up, only that they reach that place in a way consistent to their past
behavior on the show. the dropoff in story quality was stark (ha) the moment D&D ran out of book to adapt. GRRM may have given them a roadmap for where he sees the saga's endgame eventually playing out but that did not translate to great shows on the screen. up to that point, the story had played out like an elaborately (but compelling) plotted chess game. one side would make a move, which forced other sides to make countermoves and pieces would come off the board and so on. the last two seasons have just been watching someone play tic-tac-toe with the remaining game pieces and still managing to **** it up to a fare-thee-well
This week will certainly be remembered for an all time great show ending May 19, 11:40

I would guess that they knew where they wanted the characters to end up, but got bored with the deliberate pacing. May 20, 09:34
