Way back when I first started playing this game, I had multiple ports and TPTB caught me trying to game the system.
Like you outlined, I used the extra ports to manipulate penny stocks, making them go up and then go back down and riding the wave with my 'real' port. Who cared if I was wasting commish on trades with the fake ports?
With no warning, all ports but one were deleted and the one remaining was docked 25% of net worth, including cash. I had like negative nine or ten million in cash. I had to sell half of what was left to have any cash.
You might be able to get away with multiple ports for a few weeks or a few months. But you will be probably be caught, you will probably have you port docked, and you will feel probably like an azzhole for cheating. I sure did.
