If you were holding short, then if you were credited for more than the per share price, you were a winner....
ie....If 100K shares at 40 delist, that is 4M. If your are credited less than 4M, then you lost (you shorted when you should have been long. If you are credited more than 4M, then you shorted correctly and made a profit.
Unfortunately, if you are holding long, you are credited for the per share price. Period.
On the other hand, price paid does not matter. It is ancient history. Just take your chips to the cashier, or go to another table and keep on playing.

Interesting idea. Seems that for the OP, that would lead to every stock having a tag. As a port grows, that would kind of Feb 01, 07:15
