Who decided that? Here's a suggestion then...
Drop the held column and go back to what you used to have with shorts in red. We preferered that anyway.
Use that space instead to add a difference column showing the price difference between held and purchased. Put this new column to the right of daily differerence. That way it doesn't interfere up your split short and long view layout. We'd get a look at the daily difference and then the long term difference side by side.
Give it some thought please.
