Oscar nominated at age 14 for her gritty role in 1976's Taxi Driver, Jodie Foster has spent her entire life in front of the camera. Foster began her career at age three, in a national ad campaign for Coppertone. Foster made her big-screen debut in the 1972 Disney film Napoleon and Samantha. Her work would earn her a starring role the following year in Tom Sawyer. Foster kept a low profile through the early 1980's, but stepped back into the limelight in 1988, with her Oscar-winning performance in The Accused. With a second Best Actress Oscar for her role as Special Agent Clarice M. Starling in 1991's Silence of the Lambs, Foster confirmed her position as one of Hollywood's most respected actresses.
