Warner Bros. has uneashed the official trailer for the DC superhero film Blue Beetle [BLUBT]. Xolo Maridueña stars as Jaime Reyes who is transformed into the title character by an ancient relic of alien biotechnology. The Scarab chooses him to be its symbiotic host and bestowed with a suit of powerful armor, not unlike Marvel's Iron Spider-Man. Originally produced as a movie bound straight for HBO Max, Blue Beetle will open in theaters on August 18th.

The Tamil film follows the rise of Rajaraja I who became the greatest ruler of the Chola empire of south India during the 10th Century. Opening last September 30th, Ponniyin Selvan: Part I is the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all times worldwide, earning $4 million in the U.S.. Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 opens in theaters on April 28th.
