ok so this question gets asked literally about 5 times a week...but basically shares traded prior to movement dont count. only trades made
in one of 2 ways matter: 1. when the share allocation has been reached, the *first* trades after that dictate how the stock moves. or 2. the *first* trades after reset.
so simply put: if a stock has 1 share long and 1 million shares short, but the first trade after reset is a long, then the stock goes up.
now to casual gameplayer that doesnt seem fair, but hsx is more interested in active trading.
(oh and me saying "shares traded prior...dont count" isnt really true. They do, but just not with the initial movement. there is a very complex, secret formula that decides how much a stock moves)
