It appears (and may even have been stated by antibody) that the trades up until midnight on the day of IPO (or the number of IPO shares have been bought) have no effect on the price, so the upward movement was caused by someone buying (rather than shorting) just after the reset at midnight - the algorithm for the stock price is HSX's "secret formula" so we mere mortals just have to learn/guess with experience
