The word "la", which would be "the" (femenine) doesn't quite work there (in the original post).
I'm not sure if your spanish-french closeness works both ways thought. A native spanish speaker would have lots of trouble understanding french. I know just a few french words myself...

The way I translated: suerte => souhait => wish; fond => fonde => fund; cuartro => quatre => four Jan 10, 14:00
Suerte isn't the same word as souhait. The equivalent word in French is "sort", meaning fate or lot. {nm} Jan 10, 14:40
