I think we both feel like...
In the "olden" days around here, you could buy stocks, wait for them to go up... short those stocks we felt were not going to open well, etc. (all 3 of us have been around a long time... so you know what the game was like here 5,6,7 years ago)
It just seems like we used to be able to earn 1, 2, sometimes $3M a day... now it's rare that I get over $500K...most days I'm in the red..although not a lot sometimes...but with a $1.8B port, to only be up $28,000 (like today) is crazy.
It just seems that no matter what I do...short a ton of stocks, long a bunch, etc., I'm having to scrape by with gains of $100K a day or so. I've dropped prolly 25+ rank LTD since all this craziness started... don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining... just trying to figure out 'how' to hit the right combination of longs & shorts in my port.
Still a fun game, but boy... has it got me mixed up from where it used to be back in the days of Scapey the Goat!

I've boosted my Bonds holdings, and it's helped a lot... my port is 4:1 bonds to moviestocks {nm} Mar 26, 02:42
