It adds plausible deniability.  By turning what is real into fiction.  People think you're talking nonsense, when you talk about a secret World Government.  They stand in full daylight, and can't be seen.

Believe in conspiracies? Who thinks The Avengers phenomenon, has been orchestrated ... elchan May 19, 10:40

huh? {nm} ryancoke2 May 19, 10:53

Of Course its been orchestrated by Marvel since Iron Man came out ! {nm} gogreenytd May 19, 10:56

:) {nm} dsbman May 19, 11:00

Yeah, a year before the Hunger Games was published, someone came up with this brilliant idea to begin planning for a movie to counter it. not2fast May 19, 11:01

Remember a hero is only a sandwich. {nm} werewolf123 May 19, 12:10

Oh... and chemtrails! {nm} Kevman66 May 19, 11:05

I'm not saying the movie itself was the orchestration, but its domination. They could have picked any fluff movie to distract people elchan May 19, 11:09

Who is this 'they' you speak of? {nm} amnesiac May 19, 11:18

Me. I did it. And if it wasn't for those meddling kids, I woulda gotten away with it too! *twirls mustache* {nm} Paul2k May 19, 11:22

Actually, The Avengers is the first Marvel film to adequately address the pseudo-Fascist nature of most of these characters tawdryhepburn May 19, 11:55

I haven't seen it, but aren't the Avengers a kind of standing army? Or are they more of a militia which can be summoned? second gary May 19, 12:09

They as a pro-American as you can get. Capt. America was conceived in during WWII era, as American propaganda. {nm} elchan May 19, 12:29

Sure, but the political angle would not be "pro" or "anti" American. The political angle would be about a powerless people dependent... second gary May 19, 12:49

Yes, but that's still deflects the anger away from the government to some bunch of external entities... elchan May 19, 12:55

I think the nature of the antagonist / threat (external, as in AVNGR, or an internal decadence, as in HGAME) matters less than the... second gary May 19, 13:16

Yes, that's the point AVNGR is saying trust us, we'll save you. While HGAME says trust only yourself, or the few who are close to you. {nm} elchan May 19, 14:42

The South, until Lincoln was elected, controlled the US Federal government. DTravel May 19, 22:51

I never can remember, is it shiny side in or shiny side out when making aluminum foils hats? {nm} Tanker May 19, 11:26

Just wear the Timberlake-backed FoilDoras. Tin foil fedora! Kevman66 May 19, 11:33

Ideally the type with two shiny sides. One to reflect external signals, and the other to keep your brain waves from leaking out. {nm} elchan May 19, 11:46

You mean the movie that (spoils) RogerMore May 19, 11:36

Yes, fear against secret shadowy organizations, like SHIELD is comical fluff. But, inciting fear against your government ... elchan May 19, 11:43

I wasnt aware that the government forcing children to kill each other for our entertainment was such a pressing issue. {nm} RogerMore May 19, 12:48

You don't think that the children of the American District being sent to kill children of the Arabic District is a relevant issue? elchan May 19, 13:00

If there were a shadowy world government behind it all, you might have a point. RogerMore May 19, 13:04

Unlike move shadowy figures, the real ones are really secret. They are in the open and yet unseen... elchan May 19, 13:10

Because all of 'em in 1 place is a more tempting target? And how did YOU get in on the secrets? And why are they letting you tell it? {nm} forlorne May 19, 13:30

This is the beauty behind popularizing movies like AVNGR and later MIB3 is... elchan May 19, 13:39

So why was HGAME allowed to get so popular? And what did this conspiracy do to make AVNGR so successful? RogerMore May 19, 15:09

Ha ha. HGAME wasn't "allowed" to be popular, it was popular because people identified with the message. elchan May 19, 15:33

They do. At the moment I am reflecting on why some people prefer complex explanations over the simplest one. RogerMore May 19, 16:02

It's because experience tells some people that simplicity is usually contrived. {nm} elchan May 19, 16:09

Sorry, but the most contrived thing here is your conspiracy theory. You haven't even explained how it was orchestrated. {nm} RogerMore May 19, 17:37

The Avengers phenomenon has been orchestrated by people looking to make a lot of money, and that's it. {nm} shadowking May 19, 11:47

I'm all for a good conspiracy theory discussion for the fun of it, but this attempt is utterly ridiculous... LanceStorm22 May 19, 11:54

Titanic. It's in the name. {nm} Facto May 19, 13:34

Yes, you should read about the conspiracy involing, Titanic, James Cameron, and the Masons. {nm} elchan May 19, 13:43

If the conspirators are that powerful, let 'em rule! {nm} forlorne May 19, 13:23

Bigfoot and Elvis were also involved but I suspect Bigfoot is simply being used as a patsy? {nm} mrbeankc May 19, 13:32

I think Hunger Games was to distract us from Twilight...Avengers from Hunger Games...Spider-Man from Avengers...Dark Knight from Spider-Man. Catzan May 19, 13:34

You left out MIB3 in the chain. ;-) {nm} elchan May 19, 13:44

MIB3? I don't remember that one...just some red flashy pen... Catzan May 19, 15:23

there are meds you can take. seriously. {nm} tradermark May 19, 13:46

I take them regularly, but still have the same thoughts. {nm} elchan May 19, 14:29

Don't buy the generics then. Spring for the good stuff. {nm} Tanker May 19, 17:12
