Disney considered Avengers 2 a bomb when Avengers 2 only earned 1.4 billion.. they expected to earn more than Avengers 1.  Ridiculous to call Avengers 2 a bomb but the projected  Avengers 2 to earn a LOT more.

Marvel's dominance shows sequels can go UP in revenue, not down...... if done right.

The Rotten Tomatoes scores you discount because some person said they targeted the scores. You had an article on it but ignored conflcting data.

First Rule of Science:  claims require proof, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof...  I can say I have a million dollars, you can't disprove it... I'd have to prove it.  Likewise the person who claimed they tanked the RT scores needed to provide proof.  RT claims their system wasn't unduly influenced.  You discount the acutal people that should know, the RT IT professionals.. Of course it's in RT own interest to maintain credibility to claim they aren't being manipulated. You dismiss RT out of hand, not the opinion of a sampling of 186,000 ratings. Metacritc user score, IMDB user reviews.

From reading nearly every page on RT on the SW TLJ audeince reviews since Dec opening you could conclude that the 5 star reviews are the FAKE reviews, paid for by Disney or done by SW fanatics that can't accept any criticims.  From reading all those reviews a common thing to note is whenever you see the % sign the review is brief and almost almost always positive with no profile  Done to prop up the score.  The negative reviews are much more elaborate, detailed and specific and the postive reviews were more general praise but few specifics. Also since the RT reviews over flow from page to page, a spreadsheet or every other page sampling would be better. Suspect RT is rigging the system so rating can't plummet futher since the reviews with explanations would have TLJ more at around 30% or lower. RT admitted to altering their reviews for BP so it's less credible now.  i doubt there is any movie with more audience reviews than TLJ, currently TFA has more
 user ratings but that'll change over time.

Sure there are groups that will target different movies but how significant and affect are those is what  is debatable.  You pointed out self reporting vs Comscore audience scores but neglected to focus on the audience that sees a movie opening night and opening weekend are not necessarily the continuious demographics of the audience. Outsized weighting should be given to the demographic that see the movie multiple times. The % that says they'll see it again for movies with a devoted fanbase will have an outsized weighting. First weekend TLJ had 67% male audeince which dropped to 58% second weekend. SW was always a predominantly male franchise but not exclusive... the female audience that Kennedy is going for are not the same rapid fans.

The fanbase of SW made it into the merchandizing juggernaut it was.. The fans kept SW alive for the last 40 years, buying the toys, video games, books, DVD, tie-ins, clothing, etc.  The some of the millions of fans will post and express their displeasure but SW has cultural momentum.  Just like Transformers franchise crashed, DCEU crashed with Justice League,

The fact that toy sales have DRAMATICALLY DECREASED is igored by you.  Lucus knew that the toys had to be interesting, fun... Disney ignored that, many characters are undeveloped, uninteresting.  The toys have minor color changes, redundant, or expensive.....In a time when they have to compete for attention from video games that's shortsighted.  As a result... Their toys decayed on shelf... Toy sales dropped approximately 50% year over year so 2017 was around 25% of Force Awakens... Even worse since 4th quarter 2017 reported an additional 20% decrease.. Most of the money from SW is made from the merchandise!! 3 times more than the movie.  The SW toys are on clearance all over, except the OT toys and a few select ones. Every ToyRUs has millions in unsellable SW merchandise. Coincidence that ToyRUs is now bankrupt and closing?  Yup, I know the leverage buyout killed ToyRUs but TLJ finished ToyRUs off.

You ignored the video game catastrophe of SW Battlefrone II.. that microtransaction further damaged the brand and angered the fanbase. Lost millions of units in sales of the game which is tens of millions of dollars and generated ill will against EA and Disney. Disney screwed up by making ther title exclusive to EA instead of a competition for the best game and eliminated the LucasFilm in house game develpment.

Youtube views on SW Solo has the lowest in the series as well. Sure it's not released yet but since you're in the media industry you can bother to investigate the relative views per day for each movie.
