In a similar boat, have seen *a* movie in a theatre post-COVD (was one of those private rental deals) and the 20 minutes of DUNE...
Significant other is not ready to be in a packed theatre yet, so SPID8 is off the table. I did go on my own to see the 20 minute IMAX DUNE preview a few months ago, and have to admit I did get a little anxiety sitting there in a pretty full IMAX auditorium.
Don't think I'd feel comfortable at a packed outdoor sporting event either.
