Lionsgate did a serious campaign for the first one (but only got a Best Original Screenplay Nom), it's likely Rian Johnson's deal includes a significant awards campaign as well. If they do a "serious" theatrical release October 7th (which is WIDE open and also equivalent to No Time to Die) 45 days will allow a release on Netflix for Thanksgiving. Alternatively November 4th which is wide open besides Amsterdam also allows a Christmas Netflix release.
And or they could just do 30 days ala what is probably going to happen with Strange World, Thanksgiving Weekend release, Christmas on Netflix. On Netflix for Thanksgiving would require going against Black Adam directly with a 30 day window.
I think exhibitors would eat up an October 7th theatrical/Thanksgiving Netflix release, but to mount a respectable wide release ad campaign, they need to start by August (July would be better).
