Judging by what I've seen so far in 2022 (& their slate rest of the year) 'wasting' $200m is more like it (Movies, don't watch many Series)
They should just keep back the money to buy projects from Sundance/Cannes/TIFF etc - would get both viewers & awards & at a lesser/same spend while refocussing staff on developing more Series w/o firing too many.
Variety: Netflix will have another round of layoffs this week, likely around 150 more employees. No word on which departments. Jun 20, 09:29
