Incidentally, was looking at the last time Christmas fell on a Sunday...
It was the week where the first Sing opened in 2016, as did Passengers, Why Him? and Assassin's Creed, Fences went wide and La La Land went wider.
Rogue One was in its second weekend.
It certainly seems like most of the internal mults Fri-weekend were in the 2.6-2.8X range, though a lot of movies opened on Weds. (Why Him? was Friday and Fences went wide on Christmas Day).
It's hard to make too many direct comparisons since Sing had Tuesday previews and Puss in Boots does not, but I expect this weekend will fall somewhere between that 2016 weekend and last year when there was also five wide releases but only Sing 2 opened with more than $20 million. Journal for Jordan was the only Christmas Day opener (on Saturday) and that was the biggest bomb that never recovered.
We'll have to see how Avatar holds up and if there's still room for other movies to bring in business.
