as most, and especially popular, theatrical releases, which tend to aim lowbrow (comic book, superhero, diluted sequels, simplistic horror, etc.) and hit that paltry mark.  There is not much for educated, reasoning, mature audiences in movie theaters these days, just an endless stream of loud rubbish for teenies of all ages.


Watch these:

4.  The Sopranos
5.  The Americans
6.  Game of Thrones
7.  Better Call Saul
8.  Succession
9.  Luther
10. Boardwalk Empire
11. Mad Men
12. True Detective
13. Orange is the New Black
14. Oz
15. Poker Face
16. Barry

Watch a substantial fraction of that list, then let us know whether the purveyors of Marvel-Neeson-Statham-DC-Wahlberg-Rock movies have any pride of place with respect to quality.
