So... El secreto de sus ojos won the Oscar for best movie in a foreign language? Huh! Every year, I am disappointed when one of the nominees I had seen/loved (let's say it was White Ribbon, last year) did not win. Yet not much ground for immediate recrimination... not having watched them all. In 2009 (for 2008), it was only after a few months that, in retrospect, I could accept that Japan's Departure was not a bad choice considering that the Academy -at least for foreign movies - likes to reward good sentiments (no more Fellinis, please!!). Yet, why a B movie, an entertaining story -OK- that makes no sense, played by actors that must be stars in local soap operas? Argentina had (has!) better to offer... remember "La historia oficial" that won some 25 years ago? Grave yet luminous it was.

Anyway, not that grave considering that I already had more lashing slaps in my face (Sandra Bullock's Oscar, for example).
