It's called flavor of the week. Saw the same things years ago with New Kids on the Block. I worked for a sports arena at the time.
They sold out a 17,000 seat areana for 3 nights running and likely could have sold out for another week. Two years later their CDs were filling up the bargain bins.
Teen heart throbs are nothing new. Few last a long time but while they're hot they're lucrative. Doesn't take a ton of money to make a concert movie so if they strike fast and make a moving while the guy is hot they can make a few bucks.
