for an issue where I have a limited viewpoint.

Do you feel that the dropping of the proficiency portion of the permitting in your one case was good/bad/neutral? In my stupidly long-a$$ post above, I mention the comparison I've seen people make of guns to cars, and how one has to take a written and a practical driving test (after doing driver's ed) in order to get a permit or a license to drive. My gut tells me that such a thing with guns makes sense as well? And if you can't pass the proficiency test, then you don't get to have the gun or the driver's permit?

Hmm. Laws do not keep guns away from ciminals? While that is true, from my perspective, it seems to be the wrong way of looking at it. Paul2k Dec 18, 13:53
