Before anyone flips out and thinks that I am comparing anyone's beliefs to actual Taliban beliefs: I AM NOT. I am making a comparison that pretty much every group for right or wrong thinks their beliefs are "good". This does not mean they are correct.
For perspective, what is really being said in this thread is the ~700,000,000 people in this world are consciously choosing (to their own societal detriment?!) to be "aberrations of humanity". Approximately one in 10 people are regarded as LGBT, and a huge number of people in this world would rather see them literally killed than see them as the human beings that they are. They are being defined and vilified for a SINGLE aspect of their lives (one that causes absolutely no harm to other adults and no demonstable harm to children with gay parents (pletny pf harm comes to said children from heterosexuals outside of their primary relationships, however).
I find it stunningly hard to beliee that anyone would want to write off 700 MILLION potential freinds, family members, co-workers, and community members because they were taught something was wrong.
Wouldn't it be far more accurate to have a "good" belief system where people loved, respected, and cherished friendships, regardless of their differences? Sounds like something Christ would approve of.
A "good" belief system that automatically denies 700 million people equal status is tragic, awful, and frankly WRONG. Perhaps everyone should examine your motives.
