If Sharia Law oppresses the roles of women, its possible that someone back home did not like the girls robotics team being sent to America and took upon themselves the role to take out one of the girls father to make a point, all in the name of Allah of course. The article didn't say if "Allahu Akbar" was screamed before the explosion, so its not sure the exact motive.
In any case, we are not dealing with such things over here in the states yet. If you don't like one state, there are still 49 others. We are always going to have red and blue states due to personal differences. Its still America which is more free and liberal than practically every other country in the world.
