dramatically, it always had to come down to Danearys v. Cerci for the Iron Throne so I'm fine with Night King Cold going out at Arya's hand when he did.
the endgame is still interesting to see play out because there are enough other contenders who have an incentive to see Danearys go down (Jon Snow, Sansa, Gendry, Sister Greyjoy) but unless they all remain united aganst Cerci's army, none of them are strong enough to take her down themselves individually.
