Where did I say buyback is bad??? I'm just saying corporations are using their tax reductions to buy back stock and options...

Posted by: Lukasck (a.k.a lukasck) on Jun 03, 14:26 in response to forlorne's post That's quite simplistic, but why do you believe stock...

They are not using it to give better "everything" to their employees or the society...

And don't tell me the wage are rising because of tax reductions. Market needs raise the wages, just simple economic basic knowledge... If no one or not enough want to work for you at the salary you offer, you offer more... If you lose all your staff to the competition, you offer as much or more than the competition, or you close your shop... Raging war on "illegal immigrants" means that most of your low-paying jobs are not filled anymore, so those wages are up... You know, those illegal immigrants your president hires at Mar-a-Lago...

And tariffs are not an answer, especially with your greatest economic partners... and the "immigrant crisis" is just a nice rally story your prez likes to throw at his base,... Illegal immigration numbers were at a historical low, but filming a caravan of refugies fleeing poverty and death is always a good way to make the news...

Like I said american are paying and will pay for those... And not only by buying more expensive goods... Someone will have to pay for those 16 billions $$$ Trumpet is throwing at soya producers and other farming producersĀ  because he killed their main export market (China stop buying soya from USA... and found other happy suppliers), and working to kill all other export markets... Those producers will never get back on their feet...

Please 'splain your logic: The same people who say tariffs are a tax on individuals because companies will just pass them on forlorne Jun 03, 11:08

You think they use logic? {nm} PhoneHome Jun 03, 11:16

There's nothing illogical about companies doing what's best for itself and its shareholders. {nm} Antibody Jun 03, 11:32

surely consumer prices have fallen dramatically in the past year, what with all of these newly-undertaxed companies passing on the savings professor zovek Jun 03, 11:37

Let's hope not. Deflation is far worse than inflation. {nm} PhoneHome Jun 03, 11:53

That was never a goal of reducing taxes. It will help maintain prices in a period where there will be upward pressure on wages due to low PhoneHome Jun 03, 12:04

Companies are mainly using their tax reductions to buy back stock and options... Lukasck Jun 03, 13:31

That's quite simplistic, but why do you believe stock buyback is inherently bad? The other thing y'all are missing is maybe no one pays forlorne Jun 03, 13:55

Also funny that you say tariffs are just passed on to consumers, then gripe that corporations don't pay enough taxes. forlorne Jun 03, 14:00

What's funny is you coming up with these false equivalence. {nm} Antibody Jun 03, 14:17

What specifically is false about them? Corporations pass on tariffs to consumers (true unless they find a different source), yet forlorne Jun 04, 09:59

Corporate taxes are on companies' profits. They don't give their extra profits to consumers. What's the contradiction? {nm} Antibody Jun 04, 10:26
