It's a roll of the dice for the state made by a governor who could not help his citizens by closing the state down until he saw the shaken demeanor of Pres. Trump. Thus, you know this is a toe in the water for Pres. Trump. Louisiana shut down more than a week before Florida and now has less cases than Florida albeit their fatality rate is higher due probably to socio-economic conditions in a poor state.
As I have watched the numbers on the Florida Covid site, and documented what I found with screen shots so I could see numbers they do not advertise like how many tests are done in a day...the interesting tidbit I got by doing that recently is that:
April 3/4th we had two days of 1300+ cases added. Research how many tests were done and an article claims that 13000+ tests were done on April 3rd. Between April 9 and 14th, the average tests results posted was about 8500. Since April 4th, Florida has posted a flattening of the curve as positive results came back less than 1300. It looked like we had peaked. However, the positive results from testing has been 10.4% - 10.8%. So the infection rate seems to have dropped by .4%. Then pn 4/16 and 4/17 we saw a graphical spike over over 1100 cases on each of those days. However the % of positives dropped to 10.2%.
The biggest issue I have with the Florida Covid site is that the information updates in pieces. The information is not connected. The graph will update but the numbers do not change. The number of tests done changes but the positives or the negatives do not change. The % of positives changes at different times as well. The data entry should be (1) overall tests done (2) # of positives and BLAMMO a formula calculates all other info!
So to stay informed, I have to take screen shots to compare day to day to see if the whole site has updated. LOL...
This does not make me very trusting of the information in a state where the governor follows so closely behind Pres. Trump that secret service has given him his own code name.
