This is why I would like it back, HSX, just to be clear...
In the 'classic' version, if I wanted to make 2 trades in a row on the same stock, I would do the following:
1. Mouseover the symbol, it would automatically populate the broker box.
2. Click in the symbol box and copy the symbol
3. Click on cover or sell, whatever
4. Paste the symbol into the broker box on the confirmation page
5. Click on short or buy, whatever to trade the same stock again
Now, I will say that this was possible in the 'classic' version because trades generally went through quickly enough that you could place the next trade right away (if you were re-shorting, for example).
If the trades were going through a little slower and I couldn't re-short right away, I would paste the symbol into Notepad and go back to my portfolio and make another trade. I would paste maybe 4 or 5 into Notepad and then just place all of my trades for those 4 or 5 from the confirmation page. I would only have to load my portfolio once for each symbol, not twice.
Now, I have no way of copying the symbol, so I use the trade button on the right. Since trades are slower to go through, I go back to my portfolio and trade a few more, usually 5 is enough that when I go to Trade History, the first one will show up. Then I go to the Trade History page and place my trades again for each one. Now, I have to wait for 30 days worth of trades to load each time to make my trades. So, I have 5 portfolio loads, and 5 Trade History pages loads for 30 days worth of trades. I do like that we can trade from the Trade History page, but waiting for 30 days worth to load takes longer than my portfolio most times.
Plus, don't forget, HSX, if you want to re-short, for example, going back to your portfolio after covering the stock is useless. Either the trade didn't go through and you can't short any more, or the trade went through and the stock is no longer in your portfolio. So, suggesting that we go back to our portfolio every time is stupid.
Am I making any sense? Did nobody at HSX ever use the broker box? If you did, you would understand why the new way is not convenient. How can it be hard to implement? It is 2 textboxes and a bit of javascript (which you were using before). All it has to do is populate a textbox. This is very basic stuff, especially compared to your trade button. Again, keep all the new ways of trading. I really don't care. I still can't understand why upgrading means losing functionality.
