You know...honestly...it is good for newbies to see their name in lights. Maybe they will stick around a while with that love and attention.

Like Flash, unless I start a YTD account, I really don't look at the leader boards. Every now and again it is useful to spot possible cheats/opportunists (i.e. when you have three accounts named Joe1, Joe2 & Joe3 all going up the same amount.). But for the most part, those leaderboards aren't for me. I am more intrigued by the accounts ranked around me and who is actively playing or not. So, my Trader Watchlist is the leader board I watch the most.
