Random Hearts begins with the worst air disaster in Washington D.C. history, and brings together the lives of Dutch Van Den Broek (Harrison Ford) and Kay Chandler (Kirstin Scott Thomas). Both characters lost spouses in the plane crash, and they soon discover that their deceased partners had been having an affair. Difficult matters begin to complicate when Dutch and Kay begin to develop feelings for each other. Sydney Pollack, who last worked with Ford in the 1995 romantic comedy Sabrina, is the director.
