There are frequently mutliple applications per month sent by people that aren't even in the top 95%. Should I be posting on the boards to let them know that they are not accpeted? Of course not. In the 6 months that the group has been going, at least 4 of them have had major influxes of new applicants and some invites. Would this board community that is pretty strictly governed appreciate those kinds of updates? I'd get scrubbed and ridiculed if I started posting that kind of stuff on any of the boards as there is no reason to. It's plainly stated on the league page that there is multiple criteria that dicates when and how people are accepted. I'm at fault for not comprimising the boards by letting everybody know what their status is?
The fact is, I love this game and I enjoy the league, but it takes a lot of work (at times) to run one. For example, when I put together the yearly standings, that took an entire day. I'm not a computer whiz but I've taken the time to learn how to do some of the basic http stuff (or whatever it's called). I do it so that I, you, and others in the group (you will also be in at the next month) can have fun. When I come on the board and see somebody asking me when I am going to accept them into the group, it comes off wrong. When I apply for something, I try to be polite about it.
This random board post, again that is about something that is mentioned on the league page, just bugged me. I kind of think that I handled it properly since I wasn't rude about it or anything and I explained it as soon as I saw it. I would have felt uncomfortable just letting Quicksilver in after it felt like he was calling me to task, so I said something. No hard feelings, water under the bridge, but I want to portray the group as one where folks are cool with each other and I felt that I should speak my mind in the only means available (ie responding to the post).
