I gave my daughter a Nicholas Sparks DVD four-pack as a present, so look for upcoming Delta House reviews of The Notebook, Nights In Rodanthe, A Walk To Remember, and a fourth sappy chick flick whose name my self-defense synapses refuse to permit me to recall.
If anyone has a recommendation on which of those four would be the best to start with -- hoping to make a good first impression with my daughter by avoiding involuntary exclamations such as 'jeez this sucks' and 'are they all this bad?' and 'how can you watch this crap?' -- I would be all ears. I want her to continue to come home for the holidays, and just looking at the photographs of Nicholas Sparks makes me fear I might say something that would tend to drive her away.
