When they give estimates on bigger movies the #'s are always a little less.. Much different with
movies looking to open at 20M for the weekened. BTW I have heard 70M for the weekend, not 5 days. This thing is gonna do really well = They executed the marketing plan to perfection - Mobile, Social Media, Native advertising - The campaign reached this demo (60% pre-teen males (7-13) and 40% to females of the same age group. Children interacted with LEGO beatifully, and that is what is driving the advance sales. I run a mobile advertiusing company and what they did is very hard to do - with that age group. That's why adults were taking by suprise the last two days - their kids probaly already bought the tickets with their parents credit card.
Google has an opening weekend prediction tool for movies. I don't have access to it but waiting for a friend in LA to fill me in on what he sees. I will post later.
