The problem I have is that it's like they are hoping that 3D will save it. It looks minimalist and old school. I keep
thinking everytime I see an ad that there is nothing here. There is no zing, no zam and the story is pretty simple and straight forward. I was looking forward to this as I loved this movie when I was a kid, Those light cycles doing 90 degree turns at full speed blew my mind. This looks like a slavish remake. The look was state of the art 30 years ago and it has been slightly updated but I was hoping for something new and I just don't see it in the ads.
It's gone from must see for me to I think I'll wait for the DVD. If it tanks at a $35 million opening this movie will be out in 4 months. Not very long to wait at all.
