New classes of movie funds is a terrific idea, will there be additional classes offered of existing moviefunds, or all will be cashed out and restarted?
1% fee on security delist is ridiculous. Actually, if HSX is trying to imitate real world, 1% commissions are long gone. There are flat fees anywhere from $3 per trade to $19.99. Charging 1% commissions is high to begin with.
5% inactivity fee is also very high. In my history of playing this game practically from day one, there had been times when I was away from the game for a month or two and when I came back I was already penalized by holding bonds that adjusted the wrong way, forgetting to flip/trade around openers, etc. To find my port being down an extra 5 or 10% (for two months) would have been devastating. If that was to happen to me today and I came back and saw my port down 250 million +, I would have just quit altogether. Maybe a smaller fee for 1Billion plus ports of something like $1 million per week after 30 days of inactivity? (Proprtionately smaller inactivity fees for ports under $1 billion)? Quick question: if the account is charged 5% fee and there isn't enough cash to cover it, will existing positions be sold/covered at market prices (thus moving prices) or will securities be taken in kind without market transactions?
250k to start with and 250k for the next 8 logins might work but it will put new players at disadvantage if there are really good investing opportunities currently available and cannot be played by new players due to limited capital. How about starting at the good old 2 mill and after every 8th login (i assume 1 login would count per day), give a bonus of 250k? up until the port is over 5 or 10 million dollars?
Love the game, and plan on playing for as long as I can...
