I may be wrong in my assumptions here, so feel free to ask DMac for clarification:
It isn't necessary to tag the stars to these IPO requests. It's nice, but not necessary. If it was necessary (as your rationale seems to indicate as your stance), then Dmac/Antibody would have tagged the stars when he responded to the initial posting by PVL further down.
If you're the first person to make the IPO request, I have no problem with your chosing to tag. However, if it has already been requested, but without tagging, I would think it isn't necessary to rehash just to add tags.
Perhaps I'm just being too narrow in the "guidelines for posting" that are floating around in my head. :)
