consideration. His INTs are not going to be his storyline for the years to come. He has no OLine and is costantly throwing on the run. But regradless of the TOs he's propelled his team to a probable playoff spot and took them from 2-14 to a probable 10 win season. There is no doubt he is a top 5 MVP of the league should they make the playoffs considered where they were last season.
But back to AP, let's go revisit 2009 and think about Chris Johnson. He had 2006 yards rushing and over 2500+ all purpose yards with 16 TDs. The all purpose yards figure is the most ever! One could argue the greatest stats from an RB in the history of the NFL. He didn't receive one vote for MVP!!?!

Why did this happen? CJ's single season stats were better than any players performance at any position that year. The reason is because they were 8-8, 3rd in the AFC South and didn't make the playoffs. While Peyton was 14-0 on his way to an undefeated season, when they take him out in the beginning of the 3rd quarter w/ the lead. They put in the backup QB and surrender the perfect season. Proving that Peyton was the most valuable player to that team, in the NFL and to the voters who want their MVPs sitting pretty in the post season.
With the NE loss last night the Broncos will be #1 in Power Rankings this week (winning at BALT). Peyton is having his 3rd best QB rating season ever, in his 14th full season of play. In 14 games he has already reached 4000+ yards for the 12th time in his career. This will be the 2nd best year of TDs for him. This will be the 2nd best year for completion percentage. This is arguably his 2nd or 3rd best year EVERand he's 36 years old, coming off of what many said would be a career ending injury. He's taken a team that was 8-8 last year to already 11 wins, and yet still two games to play. They control their destiny, but I see them a #2 in the AFC at this point. They have two homes games left against CLE and KC, so in my opinion they are goign 13-3.
Brady had a real setback last night losing at home to a rookie QB and a San Fran defense that got beat at St. Louis two weeks back. He was the only real contender at this point, with AP back a bit in 3rd or 4th (debatable).
I'll say this, if AP can break the rushing record. If he can break the all purpose yards record (doubtful). If he can propel his teams to TWO wins these next two weeks and make the playoffs, then he has a great chance at MVP. However, I still would be doubtful.
Remember, everyone loves a QB and who is more darling to the NFL than Peyton Manning. He dominated the NFL last year in news last year and he didn't even play. He dominated in the offseason. It's too easy for the voters to hand AP the Comeback Player of the Year award to save the real trophy for Manning. If the season plays out like I think it will, that's exactly what will happen. Manning is getting that 5th MVP, come hell or high water.
If I had to vote today here's how I rank the top 5 for MVP...
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Adrian Peterson (tie)
3. Matt Ryan (tie)
5. Aaron Rodgers
HM: Andrew Luck, JJ Watt
If I had to vote today here's how I rank the top 5 for ROY...
1. Andrew Luck
2. RG3 (would be 1st if Cousins didn't win the game against BALT and CLE...and RG3 did)
3. Russell Wilson
4. Doug Martin
5. Luke Quechly
HM: Ty Hilton
In all honesty, if RG3 comes back and his team makes the playoffs then he's going to win ROY. Going to be an exciting two weeks in the NFL! I can't remember such a great year in football drama, comebacks, rookies and records.
