I always felt it is a ripoff if I buy a book titled "Tom Clancy's ....whatever" written by David Michaels or whomever....
Clancy actually hid the name of his writers from the front cover and put them into acknowledgments. "I would like to thank David Michaels without whom this book would never have been written."
David Michaels wrote Splinter Cell.
But it is like Daniel Craig as Ian Flemings's James Bond 007 in Skyfall.
